It's hardly surprising that only the US could lure Anne away from the BBC, temporarily at least.
American Network NBC hired Anne with a rumoured £15 Million contract which keeps her with the Network for 6 years if the show remains successful. The Show was launched in a blaze of publicity with Anne's phrase and face being plastered across America. The show got off to a fantastic start with 17.5 million viewers for the first episode. The show has levelled off at around 9.5 million viewers and is usually in the top five most watched programmes.
The Studio is modelled on the UK prime time version whilst the Logo has also changed. The main difference however is the jackpot - there's a cool $1million on offer compared to the paltry £20,000 (about $50,000) in the UK
Anne Robinson is a great host.
USA made a Daytime version of Weakest Link. Instead of having 8 contestants, 6 contestants. Daytime Version is one of the few versions hosted by a man, in this case, George Gray.
George is quite a humorous person and he hosted Junkyard Wars too. Of course, he's still suitable for the hosting of Weakest Link.
